As a 40+ year old company, we’ve evolved greatly into becoming a leading supplier of both finished and unfinished furniture throughout the United States. Our product is made entirely of Parawood, which is part of the maple family. It is valued for its dense grain, minimal shrinkage, attractive light color and ease of finishing. It is also prized as an "environmentally friendly" wood, as it makes use of plantation-grown trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing cycle.

John Thomas Furniture, a division of Whitewood Industries, has been a 100% employee-owned company since July of 2017.
Whitewood Industries was founded in 1982 by Jorge Matta and Ron Feibel. They decided to move forward with an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) to ensure the company's legacy and long-term financial stability. This promotes an ownership culture where all Whitewood Employee Owners succeed together.
Whitewood's ESOP is designed to provide employee owners with additional income for retirement. Over time, shares grow in number and value as the business grows and experiences success.
